In chess understanding some more advanced attacks and moves is important for improving quickly. These tactics can be great ways to get ahead by putting your opponent in a tough spot. One of the best ways to quickly get ahead is called a fork. When you put the opponent in a fork it means you have one piece attacking two so that the oppenent has to choose what piece they are going to lose.

Another useful attack is a pin. This is when you have a piece attacking your opponent's piece however thier piece can't move out of the way since there is a more important piece that would be in danger if they move the one in immediate danger.
