Dotsero to Hanging Lake is flatwater with the exception of three short class II rapids. This section of the river is the site of the annual Canoe Colorado Canoe/Kayak Race which has been taking place almost 20 years in mid-August.
Exit I-70 at Dotsero. Go to north side of I-70. Go to east
side of Colorado River. You will find a large parking lot, toilets and boat ramps. New boat ramp is located on the north side of the two lane road.

The take out is at Hanging Lake Rest Area, but there is only an east bound exit from I-70 to Hanging Lake. You will need to go four miles west of Hanging Lake to Grizzly Creek then go east on I-10 back to the Hanging Lake exit. Also there is only a west bound exit at Hanging Lake so again you need to go to Grizzly Creek to go east on I-70.
