Glenn Races in Open Class of Two College Races
On Friday, January 28 and Saturday the 29, Glenn raced in the open class of two college races hosted by the University of Denver. The races were at Snow Mt. Ranch. Friday's race was a 10 km freestyle and Saturday's race was a 15 km classic mass start (this means that everybody starts at the same time, as opposed to Friday, when we started at 30 second intervals).
Friday's race was a very exciting race that came down to the last 3.5 km. The results are at:

Saturday's race was very exciting also. Glenn ended up at the end of the lead pack, and had to pass people who were getting dropped. The results are at:
http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/604/610.html?sector=CC&competitorid=90655&raceid=8408
At either race, Glenn would have made any varsity team (3 skiers) except for DU, who hosted the meet.
An interesting side note to these results is that if you click on a competitor's name, you can pull up other results from that competitor as well as world rankings. To pull up world rankings, go near the top and where it says "Your Choice Here" next to a dropdown menu that should say "Results," and go to "FIS Points." The other items on the dropdown menu are also fairly interesting.
Glenn Races at U.S. Nationals
http://www.nccsef.org/index.php?id=11,16,0,0,1,0In January 2005, Glenn raced in US Nationals. For results, go to http://www.summit-systems-timers.com/us_nationals/ Glenn raced on Monday (30 km free) (26th overall, 2nd Jr), Wednesday (10 km classic) (14th overall, 1st Jr), Saturday (Classic sprint) (41st Jr or 39th Jr or something), and Monday (15km/15km double pursuit) (20th overall, 1st Jr) (Double pursuit means a mass start with a ski exchange in the middle. These go classic, then skate. They are like triathlons with the ski exchange). For the sprint, Glenn is in the Junior classifications. Also, Glenn is only in the qualification results, as he did not qualify for the rounds. Glenn says, "I am not much of a sprinter though, as the results show." Maybe, but reality is that Glenn is on the Junior National Team that will go to the Junior World Championships in Rovaniemi, Finland. These races will be held in late March, and they are his next major competition. To see the whole team the whole team, go to:

Glenn Randall is a senior at Collbran High School. He has been skiing and racing on the Grand Mesa since he was a small boy. Many of us remember him as the little kid who always passed us up in GMNC races. Glenn is coached by his parents Gregg and Hege Randall, both accomplished ski racers in their own right. This page is dedicated to following Glenn's racing career. Go Glenn!
