Glenn Randall is a junior at Collbran High School. He has been skiing and racing on the Grand Mesa since he was a small boy. Many of us remember him as the little kid who always passed us up in GMNC races. Glenn is coached by his parents Gregg and Hege Randall, both accomplished ski racers in their own right. This page is dedicated to following Glenn's racing career. Go Glenn!
West Yellowstone Nor/Am-Supertour races
On Friday, November 28, and Saturday, November 29, Glenn raced in the West Yellowstone Nor/Am-Supertour races. There was a 15 km classic on Friday and a Skate Sprint on Saturday. There was also a big ski camp. About 1000 skiers came to West Yellowstone for the event, with the US Ski Team, collegiate teams, junior teams, as well as sponsored factory teams came to the event. Teams from as far away as Vermont came to the event. There were also a lot of inexperienced skiers who came for the camp. Ski, boot, bindings, wax, and pole companies also sent representatives for the nightly expos and the tents set up on the ski trails. These tents allowed people to try out different equipment on the ski trails. Thomas Alsgaard, one of the greatest skiers of all time, also came to the camp and made presentations, signed posters, and skied around the trails.
During the entire week, the trails were filled with people of all ages. There were also great opportunities to spend time with US Ski Team members. Glenn played pool with US Olympian Torin Koos. Even though Glenn spent a day with the 24-hour flu, this was a very fun week. 109 men started the 15 km classic, as well as other skiers who skied in the women's 10 km and junior 5 km races.
