logic, consumer mathematics, descriptive statistics, counting methods, basic
probability, and algebraic models (linear, quadratic and exponential equations). Course Objectives:
In this course you will learn how mathematics is commonly used in the
world around us. In addition, you
will develop technical facility for each of the topics listed above.
You will also develop some facility with calculators, as well as
developing your problem solving skills, group participation skills, and
communication skills. Prerequisite:
MATH 091 (Intermediate Algebra), appropriate Compass
score, and/or successful achievement in two years of high school algebra.
