This is a local chapter of The Stoic Fellowship (TSF) for Grand Junction and the Colorado western slope. Its purpose is to organize a group for reading about Stoic philosophy and discussing how to apply its tenets to our lives. If you’re new to Stoicism, check out TSF’s Stoicism 101 Guide.
We’re currently not meeting; I haven’t done much yet to advertise the group or find members. My current idea is to organize it as reading group, selecting a book we work through together and meeting once a week to talk about it. As for which books to read, we could go in one of two directions: modern “self help” books about applying stoicism to lead more fulfilling lives like Irvine’s A Guide to the Good Life or Pigliucci’s How to Be a Stoic, or original writings of Stoic philosophers like Marcus Aurelius’s Meditations or Epictetus’s Discourses.
