Revision Week

For the last week of this class, we’re going to have a revision week. In the US this is often referred to as dead week. No new material will be presented. Nothing contributing towards your course grade will be assigned. Our usual lectures will be suspended so you can use your time as you see fit. But be careful: this is not a “week off”.

One purpose of this is to afford you a week to breathe and get organized before finals. But more crucially, this week will give you an opportunity to think about what you should study for the final in this class, to reflect on what you know well and what you should know better, and to reflect on what you can do well and what you should practice more; it’ll be an exercise of your metacognition.

It may be a good idea to meet up with some of your classmates to do this reflection and subsequent studying together. Our usual class meeting will become an open study hall where I’m available to guide your studying one-on-one or in small groups. If attendance drops off in the classroom you can find me in my office during that hour. And remember I’m still available in my usual weekly office hours too!
