The White River from Meeker to the confluence with the Green River can be divided into two distinct sections. Starting at Meeker the river passes through green rolling hills. The first twenty miles has plenty of Class II water that will delight experienced open canoe paddlers. After Rio Blanco Reservoir (which you will not see from the river) the White mellows out into more open ranch land before it empties into Kenney Reservoir a few miles upstream from Rangely. After Rangely the second section begins which is mainly a canyon setting. Read the Guide shown below for maps and more accurate description of the White river.
