Colorado River

Section 7 - Silt to Rifle

The river is wide and generally peaceful as it winds its way through the rangeland of the valley.

Put in:

Exit I-70 at Silt and travel south to the river. Put-in is on the south-east corner of the bridge and river. There is a nice little park with plenty of parking, port-a-pottie, and cement boat ramp.

Take out:

Put in at the boat ramp at the bridge that crosses the river to Rifle.  It is also possible to put-in at the I-70 rest area.  The rest area has the advantage of having rest rooms.  There are no restrooms are at the boat ramp.  Also bored, young people like to hangout in this area making it less desirable.
