Shoshone to Grizzly Creek

The Shoshone to Grizzly Creek run is one of the most popular runs in Colorado.  Six outstanding rapids occur in this two mile run.  The entire run can be viewed from the bicycle path that parallels the river.  During spring runoff  there are huge waves and holes.  The run is not popular during the spring runoff.  With the end of the spring runoff the favorite play spots appear and the run earns its reputation as a favorite place for boating.  3000 cfs seems to be the magic level.  Above 3000 cfs the river is a not-so-popular Class IV run..  Below 3000 cfs the run becomes a Class III run with more and more play spots as the flow drops.
