GMNC groomer Kenton Shaw had the course in excellent shape for a beautiful day of racing. It was sunny, warm, and calm. The tracks were hard and fast but not icy. The course consisted of a clockwise circuit around Vista Loop, then across Lions to Sunset and home.
Pierre Pelletier came down from Aspen to show us how it should be done blazing to the win and relegating Eric Krch to yet another second place finish. Talk about consistency! Eric further solidified his lead in the series standings. Suzi Evans, always strong, was the first woman and fourth overall to cement her top position in the series standings. Asa Burritt continued to impress everyone by skiing the full course as one tough 11-year old. Tom Suplizio and Robb Reece demonstrated their toughness by arriving on bicycles from Powderhorn as a little warm-up. Welcome to first time racers Jessica Toubman and Andy Nettell; they seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was good to see old friend and racer Karl Newman who came back from Montana to get a little exercise with us. Thanks to our volunteers Joyce Tanihara (soup maker), Sarah and Graham Stephenson, Tom Fanticone, and Jerry Nolan (camera and web master).
