Notes: Race day was generally warm but breezy so at times chilly. We were pleased to have the Colorado Rocky Mountain School ski team inject some youth into our group of racing veterans (read mostly old timers). We also had some of our local youth talent in attendance: Ian and Asa Burritt and Vikash Hypio who completed his first 5K at the ripe age of 10. After some warm days, the course was hard packed, a bit icy in spots, but well groomed. That meant fast skating but tricky waxing for the classic skiers. I used Rode Blue/Violet Multi-grade kick wax with modestly successful results. I’m sure others found a better solution. Thanks to all those who came from far reaching areas for supporting our series. It was great to race again with old friend Karl Newman who now hails from

Cour d’Alene Idaho. This was the “split pea soup race” and it was tasty.
