WINTERSTART RESULTS

SKYWAY DEC. 15, 2007

The winter finally started and the rescheduled WinterStart races were completed in fine fashion although two weeks late. For the new race date there was plenty of snow, a nice hard track and lots of sunshine and camaraderie. But, ohhh, was that snow ever cold! And slow! A good crowd came out anyway to power through a tough course on green wax with or without glide. Dave Aschwanden and Helen Carlsen appeared strong and unfazed by the crunchy snow each beating all of their own gender in both races, the classic and the freestyle. It was great to renew all of our ski season acquaintances and we hope to see lots of everyone as the season progresses. Thanks as always to our volunteers Shirley Ela, Tom Fanticone, Rob Dolan, and Nilam Hypio.
