Trail grooming for Skyway and County Line is done after snowfall of 2" or more, with touch - up grooming as needed between storms.
Our standard grooming is 14' wide with skate lane and classic track on all trails.

Help us keep the trails in good condition! PLEASE follow the standard X-C etiquette rules and signs posted at the trailheads. And kindly educate others of the intended proper use of our cross country ski trails. Report to the GMNC any unusual activity, such as snowmobiles on the ski trails or obstacles like fallen trees.

Downed trees on Ward Trail System?  Please notify Fred Wild at 874-8318 or email fredwild at q.com

Road Alerts & Restrictions

11-28-08:  Snow depth approximately 1 foot with 8 inches new snow by this afternoon. Scales Lake Road, Dog Trail, and Dog Loop groomed for skate and classic today. Skiing good on Scales Lake Road; some plants and a few rocks on Dog Trail and Dog Loop.  Grooming as necessary is planned for Saturday  morning.  Jerry Evans

11-26-08:  Skyway grooming is currently scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) morning, Friday morning and afternoon.  Jerry Evans

11-20-08:    No new snow on 6" base.  Jon and I touched up the 6k on Scales Lake Rd this afternoon.  We set double track with skating in the center on about 4k in the trees that should be excellent skiing.  The remaining 2k in the open is rock free but the classic track is melted out in spots.  We also groomed a 1k loop in the bottom of the Arroyo.  Kenton

11-14-08:  Approximately 6km of Scales Lake road from Skyway parking lot was groomed Thurs. 3 inches of new snow accumulation then gave a base of 5 - 10 inches. Skiing is better in the trees than open areas. Grooming will be done tomorrow morning to buff up the rough spots and that will most likely be the last grooming until more significant snowfall.  Jerry Evans

11-14-08:   After further discussion, we have decided not to regroom such a thin snow pack and will wait for more snow.  Jerry Evans

11-12-08:  The GMNC wil not groom trails today, but will groom tomorrow ( thursday). Kenton

11-07-2008:  The GMNC has the snowmobile grooming equipment up and running and hauled up on the hill today.  We groomed Scales Lake trail from the skyway parking lot out and back to the microwave tower about 4.5k.  Skate and Classic. Its a little rough at the beginning, but gets better the further out you go.  Next grooming will be either Tuesday or Wednesday. Kenton
