Saturday 4-13-02
3" new snow on base of 36" - 48".
4k groomed for skating on Sunset and Winslow trails.
Crust skiing was bad today due to wet new snow. Both trail and crust
skiing should be better tomorrow early in the morning. Kenton. Posted Sunday 5:15 PM
Saturday 4-6-02
0" new snow on 45" base.
No grooming at either areas. Skiing is poor to fair on the trails and fair
to good off of the trails.
Snow surface is becoming uneven and dirty. The dirt is from a dust storm
that came through the area about a month ago and is now coming to the
surface from the melting.
Saturday 3-30-02
0" new snow on 52" base.
No grooming at either areas due to budget restraints and impossible snow
conditions.
However, crust skate skiing was excellent today off of the trails. Snow
surface was smooth and not real icy, but plenty hard enough to ski on top.
With gliding strides up to 50' or more. A few soft areas on north facing
slopes and in the trees. Kenton. Posted Satuday 5:45 PM
Saturday 3-23-02
0" new snow on 54" base
Skyway - Skate Lane groomed to loosen the top glazed snow and to try and
fill in dog tracks, snowshoe tracks and foot prints. Classic track from
Tuesday is in fair to good condition. Skating is good to excellent.
County Line - No grooming today. Fair to good skiing on trails that were
groomed Tuesday.
On warm days the skiing is generally better in the early morning and
late afternoon, when the snow is not sticky and slushy. If you ski or
snowshoe at these times it will also help preserve the groomed trail, since
you won't be sinking and leaving deep imprints. And it will make it better
skiing for the next person.
Crust skiing is getting close but not quite yet. Kenton. Posted 3:15 PM Saturday

First ski report of the year for Skyway and County Line. Still 6"-8" of
snow in shady areas from the last two snowstorms. Not much, if any snow in
the open areas. Skied today on about .5k of Dog Loop. Probably some good
skiing on the 2k section of Scales Lake road on the County Line side for
anyone itching to get on snow. Wax of the day: Swix purple.
Update on the Alpine II- currently at Charlie Stoner's place where
he will take the damaged part off so it can be fixed. This problem should
not effect grooming, as we now have two Bearcat's.
I hope this report will be the first of many. If anyone doesn't want me
to send them grooming reports, let me know. I also have KVNF and KAFM
radio station e-mail address's so I can send them grooming reports too.
