Editors Note:  While taking pictures on Scales Road of the racers in the GMNC's Skyway Skuffle I met a nice Norwegian lady who happened to be Glenn Randall's mom.   For those of you who don't know Glenn, he has been a regular at the GMNC Race Series over the years.  Many of us remember him when he was just a little kid who was unusually fast.  He has already chalked up at 1st and  2nd place finishes at this year's GMNC Race Series. Glenn is 14 years old now and competing in high school races in Colorado.  I invited Mrs. Randall to send me Glenn's race results so we could all follow his progress.  Here is Glenn's report in his own words.

GMNC,
I'm very sorry about the delay in writing this. It has been a very long
trip, I stayed up late on the morning before we left, and I hit my head a few
times.
We left for Marquette on March 3. I hope that you all had a good race on
that day. The first race was a sprint, held on a golf course, on March 5. I
was 47th out of 50. On March 7, there was a 5 km skate race in Suicide Bowl.
The course was pretty gradual in the beginning, but then had a huge uphill,
followed by some rolley stuff, and then a big downhill. You can find a
profile at http://www.jo2001.f2s.com/. I placed 37th in this race. Then, on
March 9, there was a 5 km classic on the same course. I placed 38th. Then,
on March 10, there was a 3 x 3 km relay, which you can also find at the JO
website. We placed 11 of 13 in this race. You can find complete race
results at http://itiming.com/. There is some way to view it, but I don't
know what it is.

Ski Hard, Bonk Hard.

GMNC,
Over the weekend I had two races. The first, on February ninth, was a 5k
skate race in Devil's Thumb, near Granby. It was raced on the Black Five, a
part of the Black Ten. These courses have long or steep uphills followed by
fast downhills. It is one of the hardest in Colorado, and mabye even the U.
S. The results are as follows. (Boulder Nordic Team's abbreviation is BN).

Hi GMNC,
On Friday, January 26, there was a measured 5 km classical race in
Purgatory, near Durango. Please be aware that Drew Holbrook (3rd place at
the last race) blew out his knee before the race, so he will not be racing
again this year. The results of the top ten places are as follows. I will
show the team abbreviation for further reports.

To decide who goes to J.O.s in Marquette, Michigan, they will take the
average of the top three times in each class, J2(14-15 years old), J1(16-17),
OJ(18-19), and does the percentage back from that average. If you beat that
average you get negative points. The lower your percentage the better. I
will follow this up with the percentage standings. I hope that you all had a
good race at Skyway!

Ski hard, bonk hard.

Glenn Randall

Jerry and GMNC,
The races on Friday, January 12, were a series of 1.18 km skate sprints, in
Aspen. The top 16 from the preliminaries went to the semifinals. The rest
went to the consolations round. The winner from the consolations and the top
4 from each semifinals went to the finals. The winner of the finals was
guarantied a trip to JOs (Jr. Olympics). The preliminaries had 24 J2s (14-15
year olds) going out one every 15 seconds. The semifinals and consolations
had 8 people going out in a mass start and double-poling for about the first
50 yards. The finals was the same except for that it had 9 people. Just for
your information I am 14.
We do not have definite results and times, but we do have approximate ones.
I got 5th in the prelims.
I got 2nd in the semis.
I think I got 6th in the finals.
Travis Scheefer won the finals.
The next day I raced in a five km classic in Carbondale. It was a normal RMD
(Rocky Mountain Division) race. 2 skiers went out every 30 seconds. There
were 22 J2 finishers. We do have results for it. I will include the top 10
places. They are as follows.
