These jetboats show below shattered the solitude of the day with very loud motors.  They could be heard for miles in each direction.  The green boat was extremly loud.  The red boat sounded very powerful.  In spite of the noise, I didn't consider these boats to be a problem for me, although I wished they were quieter.  If there were too many of these boats, there would be a problem.    Looking to the future and the growing population of Mesa County, perhaps a limit on the number of motor boats needs to be considered as an option just as a limit to the number of campers on the river will need to be considered as an option.  (We can't have more campers than we have campsites.)  Another option to consider is a noise ordinance that would apply to everyone on the river, campers and boaters of all types.
