Help Point #3-1: Stride into herringbone as you go up a hull. Herringbone means to point the tips of the skiis out and dig the edges of the skiis into the snow as you go uphill. Herringbone is used on when you begin to slip with classic striding while going uphill.
Help Point #3-2: Frontview of herringbone (comes in handy on steep hills).
Help Point #3-3: For extremely steep hills it might be necessary to sidestep up the hill.
Help Point #3-4: If you slip and fall while on a hill, move your skiis perpendicular to the slope of the hill so you will be in position to sidestep up (or down) the hill.
