The purpose of this course is to provide accounting students with a basic understanding of information use, documentation, data modeling, systems development, and internal controls. It is not intended to be a course teaching how to operate any of the commercially available accounting software packages, but rather to help the student understand what should be involved in any well designed and implemented system.
As a general rule, the first day on a new chapter will not have any homework required other than to study the chapter(s).
If you are a student with a disability who requires special assistance, please contact the Educational Access Services office, phone 248-1801

Breaking points for grades will be 5 for an 'A', 4 for a 'B', 3 for a 'C', and 2 for a 'D'. Points for collected homework will vary..
You may protest any test question you think is not valid. The protest must be in writing, needs to include the question (not just a reference to the question number, please), an explanation of why you think the question is not a good question (ambiguous, different interpretation, etc.), how you answered it and why, and your suggested change to the question to improve it.
There will be no make-ups of scheduled tests unless prior arrangements are made. If you have to miss a test, or a daily homework quiz, contact me in advance at 248-1573 (leave a message if I am not able to answer) or send an e-mail to : [email protected]
