Online English 111 w/ Dr. Barry Laga

Welcome to Online English 111

English 111 is the first of two required composition courses. While English 112 focuses on academic writing--responding to or building upon the work of others--English 111 addresses a broad range of issues related to writing.

This class is about persuasion. My goal is to provide a set of strategies that will help you persuade others to think the way you want them to think and/or behave the way you want them to behave. However, along the way, you will learn a lot of strategies that will help you generate arguments, organize your ideas, express yourself with new stylistic techniques, and present your ideas in an appropriate form.

Please select and read all the pages at the top of this page.

Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with all the links in this introduction before moving on to Chapter 1 and your assignment.
